Voltage and current are the foundation concepts in electricity.
The idea of electricity arises from an examination of nature. We study a force between objects like gravity, acts at a distance. The source of this force is named as charge. A very clear thing about electric force is that it is huge, far greater than the gravity force. Unlike gravity, though, there are two kinds of electric charge. Opposite kinds of charge attract, and like kinds of charge repel. Whereas Gravity has only one kind: it only attracts, never repels.
