automation increases the use of inductive load and so power system loses its perform. severe instance of mains improvement circuits and the day by day increase in electronics user inside the electronic devices improve the cause of mains harmonic misuse.
Power is very favourite in the present technological shift and thus it want to improve the power factor with a suitable method. This paper presents the simulation and the experimental results for active power factor correction system. Closed loop circuit is fake in MATLAB using PI controller. The system has been realize in MATLAB/SIMULINK situation.
- Power factor correction system
- DC-DC boost converter
- Total harmonic distortion (THD)
- PI controller

mate cause to burn circuit designing makes circuit involved and also it requires the supply. Employing microcontroller alternatively reduces all its disadvantages thus being efficient. It is easier to design with accuracy output. It was very appealing and absorbing to design AC-DC converter in the power electronics lab using power MOSFET IRF640.
The design is capable for many system. These growth have been tested in principle, but some detailed work remains to be done in this area. This research work can be continued for the speed control of the motor using PI controller or fuzzy logic controller, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) using this circuit can be planned later on.
